THE PHILLIPS ACADEMY

EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR
 

The Phillips Academy is an 11-month program.  Our summer program is five weeks long and runs from 8:30AM until 1:00PM.  Students are promoted to their next grade during extended school year.  We identify a theme which is addressed in students’ core classes through project-based learning.  The program culminates with an Academic Fair in which the students’ projects are shared with their families. 
 

Summer school is recommended for most students to allow them to continue their progress uninterrupted and to prevent the regression in both academic and socio-emotional skills that may sometimes occur with extended time removed from an educational setting.  It is also an ideal time for new students to become acclimated to the school environment.
